POLICIES AND PROCEDURES >> BINDINGS

Journals are the materials most frequently sent to the bindery. When determining which materials to bind several factors are taken into consideration: frequency, type of material, and pertinence to curriculum. Materials are sent to the bindery quarterly, twice a year or yearly according to frequency and size. Popular journals, weekly magazines, and newspaper titles are not sent to bindery.

Items not bound are kept from one to two years and then discarded. Daily papers are kept for two months and then, discarded.

Magazines for binding should be ordered by date and issue number, tied with a rubber band and with a bindery form attached describing the title, volume, year, and color of the binding. The shipment of the magazines will be quarterly.
