AND PROCEDURES

Eating, drinking, smoking, cellular phones, audible beepers,
children and guests are not permitted in the lab/courtyard.
- All
personal property brought into the lab/courtyard is the
sole responsibility of the owner.
- The
Front Desk area is off-limits to everyone except the lab/courtyard
staff. Telephones are for use by the staff only.
- Students
are responsible for clearing their work area before leaving
the lab/courtyard. Put all discarded paper products in
the recycle bins; put all other trash in the garbage cans
provided.
- The
lab/courtyard has been designed to provide a quiet, productive
work atmosphere. Be considerate; keep conversation to
a minimum and acceptable level. Disruptive students will
be asked to leave and may be prohibited from further use
of the lab/courtyard.
- Computer
seating space and certain course resources are available
on a first-come, first-serve basis. The staff reserves
the right to limit student time when others are waiting
to use the equipment or course resources.
- Students
must make every effort in their actions to care for and
appropriately use the equipment provided.
- The
computers are to be used for MDCC course-related activities
only. Use online resources in a manner appropriate to
the academic community. Games and Internet chatting are
not permitted in the lab/courtyard.
- Because
of Campus Network policies, students may not install their
own software on any lab/courtyard computer at any time.
All student work must be saved to a diskette; no work
should be saved on the hard drive or network drive because
all files saved to these drives will be erased daily.
- Use
caution when transferring data to floppy disks. Always
have your disks checked for viruses.
- Respect
the copyright laws. Unauthorized duplication of software
or any other copyrighted material is prohibited and may
result in disciplinary action by the College.
