CAT-CLAST Information

The CLAST Computerized Adaptive Test (CAT) is an alternate version of the College Level Academic Skills Test (CLAST) which is administered and scored by computer. Three CLAST sub tests are available as separate CAT tests- Reading , English Language Skills and Mathematics. The CAT CLAST may be administered to students taking any of the CLAST sub tests mentioned above except the essay. There is a Non-Refundable /Non Transferable fee of $30 per administration to take the CAT CLAST. The CAT CLAST is available for first time and retake examinees. The same sub test cannot be taken before 31 days on either pencil/paper or computer version. The State of Florida will invalidate any score from the same sub test taken before 31 days. MDC requires that all students who have failed any section of the CLAST two or more times MUST take and intervention course (remediation) prior to registering for the test again. Students from other institutions must have their Institutional Test Administrator (ITA) complete and forward the “Certification of Eligibility” form to MDC InterAmerican Campus Testing Department before scheduling a test date.
