Singer, trumpeter and songwriter Bria Skonberg is described by The Wall Street Journal as one of the “most versatile and imposing musicians of her generation.” Recognized as one of “25 for the Future” by DownBeat magazine (Summer 2016), she counts among her accolades multiple awards from Hot House Jazz magazine (2014-15), the Jazz at Lincoln Center Swing! Award (2015) and a 2017 Juno for Vocal Jazz Album of the Year for Bria.

Born in Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada, Bria obtained a bachelor’s degree in jazz trumpet performance from Vancouver’s Capilano University. While in Vancouver, she was a featured artist with Canada’s King of Swing, Dal Richards, and performed at the opening ceremonies of the 2010 Paralympic Games.

Skonberg moved to New York City in the fall of 2010 and studied regularly with cornetist Warren Vache. She has since released four solo albums of original work.
