Dr. Billy P. Jones was born in Miami, Florida.
He is the author of Everyday Folks: Short Stories on the Common People, a short story collection. The second volume of this collection should be completed soon. He is also working on a manuscript for Pearson and Longman Publishers entitled Write Now: Using the Contemporary World and Pop Culture in College Writing.
He is a community activist, serving on the South Miami City Council and the Summerbridge Miami Programs for inner city children. He is passionate about life and enjoys sharing his experiences with others.
Dr. Jones has been with the Miami Dade College family since 2003.
