Tom Regan is
emeritus professor of philosophy at North Carolina State
University and president of the Culture and Animals
Foundation in Raleigh.
He is universally recognized as the intellectual leader of
the animal rights movement, authoring a number of books
including The Case for Animal Rights, and his most recent
Defending Animal Rights, both available in the HESC
collection.

Susan Hargreaves
is the founder and director of EarthKind, a non-profit
educational organization. She is Chairperson for EarthSave
International's Miami Chapter, and educational coordinator
for the Wildlife Care Center in Fort Lauderdale.
Susan was the president of ARK-II, the Canadian Animal
Rights network, and has hosted animal rights radio talk
shows in the US and Canada.

Alison D.
Austin is the director of Communications and Outreach
for Audubon of Florida, creating greater awareness and
information statewide, regarding conservation issues and
Audubon’s mission. Austin comes to Audubon with years of
experience in the Caribbean community, as a communications
specialist for the Organization of American States (OAS),
where she has worked extensively throughout the Caribbean
and Latin America region in rural communities and with NGO’s
to create community development action plans and training
programs, as well as Ecotourism development.

Chris Farrell
is a staff scientist for Audubon of Florida. He holds a M.S.
degree in biology from Florida International University
where he studied the community ecology of Everglades
herpetofauna (reptiles and amphibians). Farrell is a natural
science adjunct faculty member at Broward Community College.
