PROCEDURE:Local Administrative Access Request to Kendall Computers

  To set forth the process required for College Computing Resource Administrators to grant administrative access to College Computing Resources. College Computing Resource Administrators shall mean those College employees who provide technical support for security of College Computing Resources as defined in College Policy VII-1. In order to maintain compliance with homeland security guidelines, effective immediately, the adm1n account will no longer be available for local administrative logins on College computer systems. All users that receive approval for administrative access shall use their MDCC accounts for administrative access to College computer systems.
  College Computing Resources Administrators are authorized to grant administrative access to specific College Computing Resources to supervisors and/or their designees only if such access is authorized in writing via the following approval path:
  1. A Dean or Vice Provost must send a written request to the Campus CIO setting forth : (a) the Computing Resource(s) for which access is being requested by completing the attached form; (b) the time frame for which access is being granted (including date and time); and (c) the name of the employee(s) for which access is being requested.

  2. When and if administrative access is approved, the requesting supervisor and/or designee will be notified of access request completion by Campus Technology Services.
If a College Computing Resource Administrator grants access to the College’s Computing Resources for improper purposes or by failing to follow this procedure, the College Computing Resource Administrator may be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination.
