Short Title:  PowerPoint Narration / Impatica / Camtasia (FIPSE eWriting Workshop)

Audience:	FIPSE eWriting personnel

Prerequisite:	PowerPoint Basics A prepared a PowerPoint Presentation for this workshop

Description: Participants will work with the FIPSE Grant Manager to prepare a PowerPoint presentation based on the Grant material.

In session 1, participants will learn to narrate PowerPoint presentations that they have already created, and then to convert those presentations to streaming media using Impatica for PowerPoint.

In the afternoon session, participants will learn to use Camtasia to create Flash movies of lectures that are presented in Word, Paint, WebCT, etc. They will learn to upload their movies into WebCT and link them in a content module.

Objectives:

 As a result of participating, individuals will be able to:

Create a Web-delivered PowerPoint using Impatica:

· Adjust recording quality settings

• Use PowerPoint Notes to script the recording
• Narrate and edit narration of a PowerPoint presentation
• Upload Impatica files to WebCT
• Add to content module

Camtasia: Create movies:

• Plan a Camtasia lesson
• Identify the essential features of the Camtasia Recorder and Producer
• Configure Camtasia options
• Record windows and/or regions

Camtasia: Produce movies:

• Use Camtasia Produce to edit the movie
• Convert and save the Camtasia movie to Flash (or MOV, WMA)
• Upload movie to WebCT (and into a content module)
