The Facilities Management department oversees the planning, implementation, management and evaluation of the college-wide physical plant functions in support of the College’s strategic plan, vision, and mission. The MDC physical plants encompasses over 600 acres of College property at 8 campuses and outlaying facilities with a combined total of over 6 million GSF of physical buildings, including the historic Freedom Tower in Downtown Miami. The department’s mission is to provide an attractive, clean, and safe environment for students, faculty, and staff by maintaining the buildings in good repair, safe from hazards, and beautifully landscaped. New construction, renovation and remodeling projects strive to support sustainable environmental practices and keep current with the latest technology.
