CAT-CLAST

The CAT-CLAST is an adaptive version of the College Level Academic Skills Test (CLAST), which is administered and scored by computer.

Who is eligible to sit for the CAT-CLAST?
	Any person who needs to take the Reading, English Language Skills, or Math subtests as a first time or retake examinee. The Essay is not available on computer. MDC students who have failed a CLAST subtest two or more times must meet with an advisor from the CLAST Office located in room 5213 before registering.
Where can I take the CAT-CLAST?
	The CAT-CLAST is scheduled by the Testing Department at Miami-Dade College Kendall Campus located in Room 5213. Administration of the CAT-CLAST takes place in the Assessment Center located in Room 5213.
How do I register for the CAT-CLAST?
	Appointments must be scheduled in person through the Testing Department in Room 5213.
Is there a fee for the CAT-CLAST?
	Yes. There is a non-refundable/non-transferable fee of $30.00 per test date. CASH or MONEY ORDER ONLY.
How often can I take the CAT-CLAST?
	The same subtest may not be taken on computer or on pencil/paper CLAST administration more than once during any 31-day period. Scores earned in a subsequent retake administration within 31 days will be invalidated by the state. MDC students must seek appropriate remediation before retaking any subtest(s) after two attempts.
How long is the test?

Addtitional Information:

It is the sole responsibility of the individual to register for the correct section(s) of the CLAST test. The Testing Department reserves the right to change the testing schedule due to unforeseeable circumstances. In the unexpected event of a change, every effort will be made to notify scheduled test-takers. An unofficial score report will appear on the computer screen upon completion of the exam. An official score report will be mailed from the state to the test-taker's home address, approximately 4 weeks following the test. There are no exceptions to this procedure.

At the same time, Miami-Dade College or your home institution will be notified of your official score. Scores will not be posted by MDC until official confirmation is received from the state.

Students from other institutions must have their Institutional Test Administrator (ITA) complete and forward the "Certification of Eligibility" form to MDC, Kendall Campus. This form is required prior to scheduling a test date.
