Message from the Detachment Commander
Welcome to the Air Force ROTC Detachment 155 Website, home of the Hurricane Aces, located at the University of Miami. Our program also supports several other colleges and universities throughout Southern Florida and is designed with one goal in mind - train tomorrow’s leaders of the world’s greatest air and space power, the United States Air Force. We are dedicated to the success of each and every student, working hard to help them achieve their potential as a student, as a citizen, and ultimately help them earn a commission as an officer in the Air Force. By the end of the challenging Air Force ROTC program, cadets find they have far surpassed their contemporaries in terms of confidence, maturity, and leadership abilities. Most importantly, they are then given the opportunity to serve our nation in a wide variety of exciting leadership positions.
No matter what your interests are, chances are there is an Air Force specialty for you. From Engineering to Nursing to Computer Science to flying million dollar aircraft (and over 90 more), the diversity of America’s Air Force allows for a myriad of career paths. Many cadets choose to “earn their wings,” and are now flying some of the most-advanced aircraft in the world. Others prefer more “earth-bound” challenges, and are working in the nation’s premier research laboratories, learning, discovering, and teaching.
Scholarships are available for many students. To see if you are eligible, please contact us at 305-284-2870, or email Captain Blake Tromanhauser at tromanhauser@miami.edu.
Thank you for visiting us and for contemplating service to the greatest nation in the world. An Air Force career can be fun and rewarding and will most assuredly be challenging. Are you ready for the challenge?
Lt. Col. Theo Theodor
