Arts and Culutre collageMiami Dade College's tradition of respecting diversity and culture while encouraging discovery is very clear in its endeaver for greater artistic and cultural events. Plays, musicals, lectures, concerts, readings, recitals, exhibits and many other happenings bring together students, faculty, staff and people from throughout the surrounding communities. With so many wonderful venues on campus such as Miami International Film Festival, Cultura del Lobo, and the Miami Book Fair, MDC is always buzzing with something new and enriching.

Student Literary Competition 2007-2008
You are invited to join a diverse group of gifted and creative writers representing their colleges across the country and around the world for the 2007-2008 League for Innovation Literary Competition.


  • Art Gallery Systems - The programming of the AGS encompasses all aspects of the visual arts. Exibitions are accompanied by a series of cultural and educational activities.
  • Center for Cultural Collaboration International - CCCI gather human and financial resources needed to assist artists in creating new work and making lasting, meaningful ties to a community.
  • Cultura del Lobo - Their mission is to produce and present the newest, most challenging contemporary work that explores both the uniqueness of different cultures and how they interact with one another.
  • Florida Center for the Literary Arts - The Florida Center for the Literary Arts at Miami Dade College promotes reading and writing throughout the year by consistantly presenting high-quality literary activities open to all in South Florida.
  • Miami Book Fair International - The most respected literary event in the country, drawing 250 premier authors, 300 of the world's renowned publishing houses and booksellers, and half a million fairgoers.
  • Miami International Film Festival - The Miami International Film Festival (MIFF) is the gateway for International and Ibero-American film. MIFF plays a leading role in maintaining and further enriching film culture in South Florida.
  • New World School of the Arts - NWSA is Florida's premier center of excellence in the visual and performing arts. NWSA develops talented students in the areas of dance, music, theater and visual arts from the ninth grade in high school through a Bachelor of Fine Arts or Bachelor in Music college degree.
  • Prometeo -  Prometeo offers theatre workshops plus classes on acting, dancing, voice and diction, expressive movement, make up for the stage, playwriting and more.
