Miami Dade College unveiled the restored “New World” mural on the mezzanine level of its Freedom Tower. “It is an honor to be involved with this wonderful project to successfully restore this historical map within the Tower,” said U.S. Sen. Mel Martínez, who has been instrumental in obtaining federal funds to support the restoration of the Freedom Tower, a designated Historic National Landmark.
