2010 a year of honor, high praise for MDC
The Florida Senate paid tribute to Miami Dade College in honor of its 50th Anniversary by adopting Senate Resolution 2422 unanimously. More than 50 members of the MDC family – students, campus presidents, student deans, student life directors and others – were present.
MDC cuts ribbon for first Confucius Institute in South Florida
In an evening filled with the rich history, beauty and pageantry of China, Miami Dade College President Dr. Eduardo J. Padrón and a delegation of Chinese officials signed an agreement for the College to host the only Confucius Institute in South Florida.

For students at MDC’s Medical Center Campus, benefits offered by this year’s outreach programs were twofold—in addition to getting hands-on experience with patients in various communities, they also touched the lives of many in need.
On a winning streak
Students in MDC’s Physician Assistant program once again defeated the competition at this year’s Brain Bowl in Orlando, defending their title as the undisputed victors since the competition began four years ago.
Sharks score victories on several fronts
The 2009-2010 athletics season was a winning one for Miami Dade College with unprecedented success in softball and continued dominance in volleyball. The baseball team also excelled, while bidding farewell to its legendary coach, who is heading off to retirement.
City of Doral awards its first scholarships
At a council meeting at Doral City Hall on April 14, the City of Doral awarded its first scholarships to three students who are residents of the city: Lina Muñoz, Alicia Chock and Silvia Berganza.
Proving to students "College is Possible"
Miami Dade College North Campus Science Complex welcomed more than 700 parents and high school students at “College is Possible,” a recent town meeting organized by MDC and the Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) and sponsored by FedEx.
