Cultural Spotlight
Home Movie Day
![]() |
Last October, film lovers and history buffs flocked to the Tower Theater to watch flickering images of the past on Home Movie Day, a program of the Lynn and Louis Wolfson II Florida Moving Image Archives (aka Wolfson Archives). Historians Paul George, Arva Moore Parks and Randall Robinson used home movies to show the audience what many Miami landmarks once looked like and to remind them of some places that are gone forever. The Archives also accepted donations of 8mm and 16mm home movie collections for preservation and inclusion into its permanent collection. Home Movie Day is celebrated every year in October.
