In order to improve health while nourishing minds, the Miami Dade College Board of Trustees recently approved a new policy to ban smoking and tobacco in all MDC facilities, including buildings, plazas and courtyards in addition to garages and parking lots.
“We are committed to providing a healthy environment and to supporting our students’ and staff’s health,” said MDC President Dr. Eduardo J. Padrón.
This new policy aligns with MDC’s growing commitment to environmental sustainability and health. Acting as an innovative national leader in sustainability practices, MDC has as one of its core values the mission of educating students to be contributors to a healthy planet by accepting responsibility for preserving the world’s natural environment.
