Hacking It to the Top
MDC finance and accounting student Thelson Richardson won first place in the Liberty Hackathon: Reforming Education for his language learning tool. His winning product, Direct Dialect, customizes linguistic content according to learning styles at a competitive price point.
The Hackathon brought together 10 teams of entrepreneurs, software developers, educators and students for an intensive, 24-hour session of collaboration to produce software that would enhance education. The teams then were given three minutes to pitch their product to the judges.
