Alum’s Production Heads to NYC

MDC’s New World School of the Arts alumnus and award-winning playwright Tarell Alvin McCraney is preparing to head to New York City with his latest acclaimed production, Antony & Cleopatra, which is wrapping up a successful run in Miami after debuting in England in collaboration with the esteemed Royal Shakespeare Company.

This reimagined Shakespearean classic features stripped-down text and reordered scene structure, much like McCraney’s highly successful production of Hamlet last season. The Miami run included memorable special performances for 15,000 school students in Miami-Dade County – many of whom were experiencing theater for the first time ever.
