Known far and wide as “Democracy’s College,” Miami Dade College lives up to that moniker day in and day out, supporting and embracing the diversity of its student body, faculty and staff at every turn. Embodying that commitment, Dr. Joy Ruff, MDC’s director of Equal Opportunity Programs and ADA coordinator, was recently honored with the Diversity Visionary Award 2014 from Insight Into Diversity, the oldest and largest diversity magazine and website in higher education.

“Throughout her personal and professional life, Dr. Ruff has and continues to demonstrate her dedication to advocating for civil rights, equal opportunities, employment counseling/training, community outreach and programs that promote the inclusion of diversity within the student and employment populations,” said MDC Employment Manager Donna French.
