Dr. Amy Pettigrew

As an organization dedicated to the pursuit of quality nursing education, the National League for Nursing (NLN) continued that tradition with its recent appointment of Dr. Amy Pettigrew to the board of its Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation.

Pettigrew, who serves as dean of MDC’s Benjamín León School of Nursing at Medical Campus, also recently received the South Florida Association of Nurse Executives Leadership Award for 2015. Pettigrew was recognized for her “relentless support of excellence in academia and leadership.”

In addition to leadership, the honor distinguishes nursing professionals for professional and community involvement, impact on practice environment, mentoring and role modeling in addition to compassion.
