Top of the Class

Two high schools at Miami Dade College recently topped the 2015 Niche Rankings for Best High School Teachers in the Miami area. The School for Advanced Studies (SAS) at MDC’s Kendall Campus earned the top spot, with SAS at North Campus ranking in the Top 10, and SAS at Wolfson in the Top 20. New World School of the Arts, also based at Wolfson Campus, came in second.

These dual-enrollment public high schools enable students to earn college credit from MDC while taking challenging Advanced Placement courses to garner further college credits. An impressive 95 percent of SAS graduates receive an MDC associate degree in tandem with their high school diploma.

Niche ranks 5,886 public high schools based on key teaching statistics and nearly 920,000 teacher ratings from 240,000 students and parents. A high ranking indicates that teachers are intelligent and engaging, that the school is invested in its teachers and provides a good educational environment, and that students and parents rate their teachers favorably.
