A Book Fair to Remember

The 32nd edition of Miami Book Fair on Nov. 15-22 promises to be one of the greatest yet. Presented and produced by Miami Dade College, the Fair is one of South Florida’s most beloved public events, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors each year who come to get immersed in the lit life.

See and hear hundreds of bestselling authors in person, enjoy a variety of fun and intellectual events, and shop myriad book vendors from around the country during the weekend Street Fair on Nov. 20-22.

World-class authors present readings of their latest oeuvres in person at Miami Book Fair’s “Evenings With” series, a favorite among diehard fairgoers. Visitors can look forward to Patti Smith, Robert Reich, David Axelrod, Jeanette Winterson, Jane Smiley, Tom Brokaw and a host of other top authors.

A hit parade of literati and glitterati begin the march to the Fair:

Sept. 18 – Legendary novelist Salman Rushdie presents Two Years Eight Months and Twenty-Eight Nights.

Oct. 5 – Supermodel Cindy Crawford discusses her memoir Becoming.

Oct. 10 – Percy Jackson creator Rick Riordan presents his new spin on Norse mythology.

Oct. 26 – Award-winning author Tim Weiner looks back at Richard Nixon’s presidency.

Nov. 2 – Swimmer Diana Nyad recounts her record-breaking swim from Cuba to Florida.

Nov. 5Cloud Atlas author David Mitchell warps reality with haunted-house tale Slade House.

Miami Book Fair has brought literary giants to South Florida for more than three decades. See the photo gallery for coming authors as well as a look back at some of the many great authors who have taken part in the Fair.
