Oasis at North Campus

Palmetum and Orchid House
The Palmetum at North also has bio-dome greenhouses and an Orchid House with more than 55 species.

Designed by MDC architecture students, the Palmetum at North is a series of circular walkways amid more than 400 palms across 4.4 acres. It contains one of the largest, most diverse collections of palms from around the world and also encompasses several herb and vegetable gardens, a green urban living center, butterfly garden, open-air nursery, bio-dome greenhouses and an Orchid House with more than 55 species.

The Palmetum at North serves more than 50,000 children and families each year through guided nature walks, workshops and sustainability events. All are welcome to enjoy the beauty of this tropical oasis, which is free and open to the public.
