Powerful Partnerships

Teamwork on Multiple Fronts

Since opening its doors last fall, The Idea Center has established a multitude of partnerships that benefit MDC students. Among the many noteworthy initiatives are:

  • The winning teamwork continues to grow between Miami Dade College and Babson College, the nation’s leading school of entrepreneurial education. Most recently, MDC faculty and administrators attended an intensive symposium presented by Babson that already is reaping rewards by infusing entrepreneurship into every program and every course at MDC.
  • Business and STEM students received exclusive training presented by Deloitte’s Leadership Development Program. The skills obtained in this workshop propel students to launch successful careers in consulting.
  • Many renowned, successful entrepreneurs have stepped through the doors of The Idea Center with the aim of sharing inspiration and insights as part of the Pioneers@MDC speaker series, workshops and other impactful events. Among the notable speakers were Salim Ismail, global ambassador and the founding executive director of Silicon Valley’s famed Singularity University, and Jim McKelvey, Square co-founder and founder of LaunchCode.
  • MDC and MIT have joined forces to continue building innovation into MDC’s strategic plan for the future. In a program for faculty and students from MDC’s School of Engineering + Technology, Jose Estabil, executive director of MIT’s SkolTech Initiative and advisory board member of The Idea Center, delivered the presentation Innovation Happens Everywhere.
