Season of Accolades Begins

With the abundance of creative talent at Miami Dade College, it’s no wonder that the College’s literary magazines continue to wow their readers and rack up accolades year after year.

Produced entirely by MDC students, each magazine represents the culture of its respective campus. The awards have already begun flowing once again this year, with Estuaries at Homestead Campus winning first place for colleges in the Southern Division of Community College Humanities Association’s 2015 Literary Magazine Competition and third place for the poem “Peacekeeper,” by Angelica Charo.

As the contest season steams ahead each spring, literary publications at Miami Dade College perennially receive additional outstanding recognition at the local, state and national levels for excellence in art, design, editing, photography and more. So be on the lookout for more great awards news to come from not only Estuaries, but also Axis (North), Café Cultura (Hialeah), Metromorphosis (Wolfson), Miambiance (Kendall) and Urbana (InterAmerican).
