Setting the Stage for Success

Two New World School of the Arts theater students were among a select group of 20 winners from around the country recognized as 2016 U.S. Presidential Scholars in the Arts.

Nominated for their artistic accomplishments, and then selected based on academic achievement, personal characteristics and leadership and service activities, Sean Stack and Katerina McCrimmon received the award, one of the nation’s highest honors for high school students.

Along with the other scholars, Stack and McCrimmon will be invited to Washington, D.C. to meet with government officials, educators, authors, musicians, scientists and other leaders.

They’ll also enjoy a whirlwind of activities while in Washington, D.C., including recitals, ceremonies held in their honor and visits to museums and monuments.
