Cultural Spotlight

Directing the Viewer’s Gaze

As part of the 2016 Miami International Film Festival’s Celebration of Chinese Cinema, The Confucius Institute at Miami Dade College featured a master class seminar on Chinese film culture and a discussion on the underlying themes in this year’s featured films, which included The Promised Land, Mountains May Depart and the documentary The Music of Strangers.

In addition to the great work presented on the silver screen, film enthusiasts enjoyed a roundtable discussion and a special performance by Chinese pop singer A Zheng.
