The Florida College System Student Government Association (FCSSGA) Awards Ceremony bestowed honors on MDC

MDC shined at the Florida College System Student Government Association (FCSSGA) Awards Ceremony earlier this year on several fronts. Homestead Campus received the only two District 1 student awards, as Noe González was honored with the Leadership Award and Alexander Soto took home the Rookie Award. On the administrative level, District Advisor of the Year went to Lorraine Wright, Student Life specialist at North Campus.

At the state level, the Bob Graham Distinguished Service Award went to Homestead Campus student José Santiago. For group commitment to helping others, the Community Service Award went to Homestead Campus for the highest number of hours served. In addition, Homestead Campus placed second in the statewide electronic scrapbook competition, a very competitive race in which the MDC students excelled.
