Miami Dade College hosted the popular Future Bankers Camp at Wolfson Campus this summer.

World Bankers Start at MDC

This summer MDC’s School of Business, the Center for Financial Training at Miami Dade College, CareerSource of South Florida, and the Cuban American National Council (CNC) once again hosted their popular Future Bankers’ Camp, which provides hands-on experience for high school students interested in careers in the financial services industry.

With more than 23 top international banks supporting the Future Bankers’ Camp, this innovative program includes various educational opportunities for students to enhance their math, communication and financial literacy skills, including completion of a two-week internship and industry certification with the goal of preparing them for college and careers in financial services. This initiative is also aligned with the school district’s partnership and involvement in the One Community One Goal targeted Industry Implementation Plan.

Participating banks and organizations include Banco Santander, Banesco, BankUnited, BBVA Compass Bank, Biscayne Bank, City National Bank, Coconut Grove Bank, Continental National Bank, First National Bank of South Miami, Florida International Bankers Association (FIBA), International Finance Bank, JetStream Federal Credit Union, Mercantil Commercebank, Morrison, Brown, Argiz & Farra, LLC (MBAF), Ocean Bank, Pacific National Bank, Popular Community Bank, Professional Bank, Regions Bank, South Florida Banking Institute (SFBI), Sunstate Bank, TD Bank and Wells Fargo.
