Stars and Stripes Forever

In a fitting tribute to “Democracy’s College” held this fall, “The President’s Own” U.S. Marine Band gave a rousing performance of patriotic favorites at MDC’s Kendall Campus. Founded in 1798 by an Act of Congress, the Marine Band is America’s oldest continuously active professional musical organization. Its mission is to perform for the President of the United States and the Commandant of the Marine Corps. Today, “The President’s Own” is celebrated across the nation for its role at the White House and its dynamic public performances. In this historic election year, Miami Dade College is honored to have been host to the acclaimed group of musicians.
