The Miami Book Fair International attracted readers and writers of all kind to the three-day street fair from Nov. 13-15.

The North Campus is home to 30 student organizations; however, faculty and students say that several active clubs have been hindered by the long list of requirements set by the Student Life department.

Credit card law could affect students

The act, scheduled to start in February of 2010, restricts advertising of credit cards on college campuses and adds limitations to students- particularly those between the ages of 18 and 21- when applying for credit cards.

Dr. Sandra Schultz, a professor in the health and wellness department at Miami Dade College’s North Campus, has been tabbed the 2009 Florida Professor of the Year by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education.

The Student Government Association at the North Campus is collecting pop tabs for the Ronald McDonald House Charities to provide a home-like atmosphere for seriously ill or injured children.
