Halloween Costume Search

Whether you are going to a house party or club hopping this Halloween, you want the right outfit that not only compliments you but also is within your price range.

The last thing you want is to be a repeat-costume offender or out of date. I’ve put together what I consider this year’s top costumes, as well as some great affordable stores where you can purchase them.

First you need to decide what costume suits you. There is a wide variety this year, everything from movie or TV characters to classics like storybook characters and super heroes.

One of the very popular costumes this year is going to be Michael Jackson. Like last year, Heath Ledger’s passing brought on a slew of Jokers. This year, the King of Pop will be everywhere. And for girls, the sad passing of the poster icon Farrah Fawcett will bring on many Charlie’s Angels.

For all the “Twilight” fans, Belle and Edward costumes are among the many movie characters popular this season. Jigsaw (hopefully not on a tricycle), from the popular horror movie trilogy “Saw”, will be spooking all in masses. Zombie, Star Trek, and Harry Potter costumes are perfect for this season as well.

Classics like pirates, sexy sailor, military, and service uniforms are always practical and easy to find costumes, as well as Disney storybook characters like Snow White and Alice in Wonderland.

Well now that you have an idea of the top costumes this season; it’s time to find them. Local costume shops like Party City might have some of the costumes I mentioned but it’s not guaranteed. Spencer’s has a wide selection of the sexy costumes for girls and some for guys. The prices range anywhere from $20 or higher.

A local costume store called The Witches Closet, located at 5786 SW 40th St., also has a wide variety of costume selections.

According to Carolina Ribero, part owner of the costume store, the costume that has sold the most this year has been the sexy mechanic.

“The store is just for women, we have girls from all ages come in, but our target ages are from 18 to 30,” Ribero said.

Prices range from $19.99 to $159.99 for costumes and for accessories from $5.99 to $30.

“One of the great things we offer, is that girls can try on the costumes and they can get one on one attention from us before purchasing,” Ribero said.
" If you are too busy to go out shopping, then shop online at yandy.com. They have a wide selection of just about any costume for men and women, and a great plus is that most costumes are shipped free".

Many costumes are less than $50 and are great quality pieces. I purchased from this website. My costume was shipped quickly and I was satisfied with my costume. Also, ebay.com has a wide selection of costumes that you can find at a price range you set for yourself.

Get inspired this season, and find your perfect disguise for the night.
