By Eric Monterrey

A Haiti relief event was held at Mia at Biscayne in downtown, Miami on Jan. 18-19.

The event helped raise more than $15,000 for the American Red Cross and Catholic Charities. Nancy Starr, a local Floridian, served as DJ for the event.

This was Starr’s second volunteer event to benefit Haiti. Her first event was “Helping Hands for Haiti,” that took placed at Tropical Park.

She dedicated One Love by David Guetta to the people in Haiti.

“We’re one human family, keep the faith, voices are being heard and answered,” Starr said.
