A love story more or less
By Eric Monterrey
Garry Marshall, director of Pretty Woman, presents Valentine’s Day. The movie boasts an all-star cast that includes Jessica Alba, Jamie Fox, and Julia Roberts, among other notables.
It’s a romantic comedy which takes place in Los Angeles on the most romantic day of the year. It features people— including couples and singles— intertwined by the expectations of Valentine’s Day. From elementary school crushes, high school puppy love, marriage proposal, and senior citizen love, each story shows a kind of love that we see in everyday life. You also have your anti-valentine characters played by Foxx, Queen Latifah and Jessica Biel. But keep an eye out for the twists and heartbreaks that will take your breath away.
Marshall captures the true spirit of love, not only showcasing it as some boring lovey-dovey movie, but showing the comical side of love and the things we don’t notice we do when we’re in love.
So if you haven’t seen it yet, grab your boyfriend, your girlfriend, your friends, or go alone. Valentine’s Day will show you with love anything can happen. You never know if your Valentine’s Day story could start with the person sitting right next to you.
