Why Service-Learning in Health?

While service-learning is not the same as your clinical experience, it provides hands-on experience that connects to the some of the medical issues you will face as a health care professional. Additionally, health care is moving toward being more community-based. Participating in community health activities through service-learning is a great way to prepare you for the changing world of healthcare.

Partnership with Miami Rescue Mission

Miami Dade College Medical Center Campus has a unique partnership with the Miami Rescue Mission, which includes: initiatives in the Nursing department providing education, dental cleanings and massages for residents, and faculty support for the Medical Clinic.  If you are interested in volunteering at the Miami Rescue Mission, please contact Sharde Chambers or Gisela Bretones.
