Career Prospects

Computer networks are an important part of everyday life and demand for skilled workers is expected to grow much faster than the average for all occupations. Trends in health care and mobile technologies are driving growth in this field.

While opportunities exist for workers with job experience, candidates with certifications are much more likely to attain employment. Most graduates of Miami Dade College’s certificate programs are gainfully employed in their chosen field, making MDC a great choice for your education.

The median wage for a database administrator was $71,550, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (2008), but experienced administrators can earn more than $100,000. An entry-level candidate can earn roughly $41,000. Experience, education, geography, and specialty all play a role in your earning potential.

Continuing Your Education

While this program is designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills required to seek employment, you may wish to continue your education.

All credits earned as part of this certificate program transfer to the Associate in Science in Networking Database Technology. This is a great way to expand your skill set – and your opportunities.
