Gerardo M. González

Gerardo M. González, ‘71, is dean of Indiana University’s School of Education. Prior to this appointment, González ascended the ranks at the University of Florida, serving as chair of counselor education, interim dean and associate dean for administration and finance in the College of Education. González, regarded as an international expert in the area of alcohol and drug education, regularly contributes to major scholarly journals, such as The Journal of Alcohol and Drug Education and The International Review of Education. A tireless advocate for multiculturalism, he founded the Association of Hispanic Faculty at the University of Florida. González is currently working with Indiana University’s School of Education to improve access to education among Indiana’s urban communities.
