Miami Dade College’s Future Educators of America Win State Awards

Members of the MDC Future Educators of America student organization were awarded at the Florida Future Educators of America State Conference in St. Petersburg, Fla.
Miami, February 3, 2009 - For the second consecutive year, Miami Dade College’s (MDC) Future Educators of America(FEA) student organization has received numerous awards at the Florida Future Educators of America State Conference held recently in St. Petersburg, Fla.
“These students are an example of the exemplary teacher education program that we have at the college,” said Dr. Susan Neimand, director of the School of Education. “The FEA chapter’s accomplishments are possible because of the ongoing support of MDC faculty, staff, the community, and partners in education.”
This year’s awards include:
Lesson Plan – 1st place – Diana Molina, Kendall Campus
Public Speaking – 1st place - Junior Damis, Wolfson Campus
2nd place - Christine Lara-Villaverde, InterAmerican Campus
Chapter Poster Display Board (State conference theme) - 1st place, collegewide
Written Essay - 2nd place – Vanessa Robinson, Wolfson Campus
Chapter PowerPoint presentation (State conference theme) - 2nd place Collegewide
