Miami Dade College North Campus to Host Mega Job Fair March 3-4
More than 40 Recruiters Scheduled to Attend Two-Day Job Fair
Last year's job fair drew more than 2,000 people and approximately 100 companies. This year's fair will feature more than 40 companies and is expected to draw more job applicants than ever before.
Miami, March 2, 2009 - In a troubled economy plagued with massive layoffs and a devastating housing crisis, news about potential employment is sure to brighten the moods for many job seekers.
That opportunity is just around the corner, as Miami Dade College (MDC) North Campus will host its Mega Job Fair 2009 - Take Care of Your Future Today, featuring more than 40 employers from various industries, on Tuesday, March 3 and Wednesday, March 4, at 11380 N.W. 27th Avenue, North Miami.
This year’s theme, Take Care of Your Future Today, was inspired by the current economical conditions many people are experiencing, as well as MDC’s latest slate of four-year baccalaureate degrees in recession-proof fields such as Public Safety, Education, and Nursing.
Held annually, last year’s job fair was attended by more than 2,000 people and approximately 100 companies. Given South Florida’s current economy and job market, college officials expect this year’s attendance to be even greater than previous years.
“Anyone who attends our event will be getting two for the price of one, said MDC North Campus President Dr. José A. Vicente. “North Campus’ wide array of academic and workforce training programs provide the knowledge-base and specialized skills required by employers, and we invite members of our community to visit our event to learn how our educational program can help them become more marketable and competitive in the global marketplace, and to interact first hand with prominent employers regarding career opportunities.”
