Miami Dade College Offers Auctioneer License Exam Preparation Course
Students will learn to chant and conduct auctions like the pros
Miami, October 7, 2009 - An auctioneer’s chant requires a special technique as does the ability to conduct auctions for just about any type of item, from E-Bay to a livestock auction. An 80-hour course now offered at Miami Dade College (MDC) will teach these skills and prepare students for the state license exam.
Scheduled for October 19 through October 30, 2009, the Auctioneer License Exam Preparation course will be held at the Kendall Campus, 11011 S.W. 104th Street, on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The course is one of several being offered by the College’s Workforce and Professional Training Program within its renowned School of Community Education.
Students will learn about the laws governing auctioneers, brokerages, record-keeping, and how to chant like a professional auctioneer.
An auctioneer’s license is required to auction property that includes all E-Bay items, estate and government confiscated items such as automobiles; residential, commercial and farm real estate; development properties; antiques; collectibles; coins; livestock; farm and restaurant equipment; firearms; business and commercial assets; special licensing permits, art, furs, jewelry, toys, exotic animals, and more.
The course will be taught by James A. Buzzella, CAI, who has 20 years of experience in the field. He was Florida’s state champion bid caller in 1997 and auctions property seized by the U.S. Treasury, Immigration and other governmental entities. His talents are currently utilized at real estate, automobile, personal property and business asset auctions across the country.
In fact, just this month, Buzzella will conduct an auction of more than 700 homes within the state of Florida. With his diverse experience, he helps clients liquidate their assets into viable capital. And given the state of the economy, the auctioneer business is booming.
The cost for the MDC course is $779.
