Miami, November 2, 2009 - Miami Dade College’s (MDC) Arts and Philosophy Department will continue its successful jazz series, Jazz at Wolfson Presents, on Tuesday, Nov. 17, featuring the Wolfson Campus Jazz Ensembles.

Wolfson’s Jazz Ensembles encompass three small groups: Horace Silver Ensemble, Blue Note Ensemble, and the Hard Bop Jazz Ensemble. Made up of some of South Florida’s finest young musicians, the groups perform traditional jazz repertoire of various styles including Hard Bop, Cool, and Modern Jazz.

“These groups are comprised of exceptionally talented young musicians.” says jazz studies professor and series director Dr. Michael Di Liddo.  “Their diverse cultural backgrounds bring an added flavor to traditional repertoire and original compositions.

MDC’s Jazz at Wolfson Presents features live performances that run monthly from September through April. The concerts are free and open to the public.
