“Looking For Eric” Kicks Off the 27th Annual Miami International Film Festival Presented and Produced by Miami Dade College

Miami, February 22, 2010 - The east coast premiere of director Ken Loach’s “Looking for Eric” starring world-famous Manchester United football player Eric Cantona raises the curtain opening night Friday, March 5, 2010 for the 27th Annual Miami International Film Festival (MIFF) presented and produced by Miami Dade College.   The president of Miami Dade College, Dr. Eduardo J. Padrón, and other college officials will be on hand at the historic Gusman Theater in downtown Miami to celebrate the beginning of the 10-day Festival, which showcases some of the world’s finest cinema from filmmakers across the globe.

WHAT:          27th Annual Miami International Film Festival (MIFF) opening night film “Looking For Eric” directed by Ken Loach starring Eric Cantona. Highlighting the escape from life’s trials that soccer and its heroes offer fans, Ken Loach’s film, “Looking for Eric,” presents a middle aged postman whose mundane life is in crisis.  At his weakest moment, he hallucinates and then receives transformative life coaching from hisidol and namesake, the famously philosophical French footballer, Eric Cantona.
