MDC Kendall Campus to Open Theater Season with Play Written by Steve Martin

Miami, August 25, 2010 - What happens when art and science face off? Find out on Thursday, Sept. 30, at 8 p.m., when Miami Dade College’s (MDC) Kendall Campus kicks off its 2010-11 theater season with the opening of Picasso at the Lapin Agile, the first full-length play written by legendary comedian actor Steve Martin.
The Kendall Campus production of Picasso at the Lapin Agile will be directed by MDC Professor Deborah Mello and performed by students. The play centers on a fictitious meeting between Pablo Picasso and Albert Einstein at the legendary Montmartre bar in Paris in 1904. It first opened at the Steppenwolf Theatre Company in Chicago in 1993. The play also had successful runs in Los Angeles and New York City, among other U.S. cities.
