Miami, September 8, 2010 - The Arts and Philosophy Department at Miami Dade College begins the thirteenth season of its successful jazz series, Jazz at Wolfson Presents.  The monthly concerts that run from September through April are free and open to the public.

September’s kick-off concert features MDC’s own Jazz Faculty Quintet. Made up of some of South Florida’s finest musicians, the MDC Jazz Faculty Quintet features saxophonist Ed Calle, guitarist Mike Di Liddo, pianist Jim Gasior, bassist Rick Doll and drummer Rodolfo Zuniga. Since its inception in 2003, the group has performed during several seasons of Jazz at Wolfson Presents. The Faculty Quintet presents original compositions and select compositions from jazz repertoire, including modern, hard bop, modal and Latin jazz styles.

“It’s always a pleasure to perform with my colleagues from MDC,” says series director and guitarist Dr. Michael Di Liddo. “Individually, they are exceptional musicians with unique musical talents.  Performing as a group, they consistently offer exciting, creative and memorable performances. I look forward to working with them.”
