MDC Hialeah Campus to Host Storytelling for International Literacy Day

Miami, September 8, 2010 - The ESL & Foreign Language department and Student Life at Miami Dade College’s (MDC) Hialeah Campus will host a storytelling event in celebration of International Literacy Day. MDC students and volunteers will dress up in costume for this special reading of the children’s book Princess Hyacinth (the Surprising Tale of a Girl Who Floated) on Thursday, Sept. 9, from 6 – 7:30 p.m. at the John F. Kennedy Library in Hialeah.
MDC students, staff and the community at large are invited to attend the reading, which will also include a royal tea party, live music, games and other fun activities. In addition, the Florida Center for the Literary Arts at MDC, presenter of the world-renowned Miami Book Fair International, will provide free copies of the book.
This event is free and open to the public.
