Miami, November 16, 2010 - Miami Dade College (MDC)Eig-Watson School of Aviation student Joaquin Mantovani was recently awarded $5,000 by the Greater Miami Aviation Association-Batchelor Scholarship Fund.
Fostering professionalism in aviation, the GMAA-Batchelor Aviation Scholarship Fund awards scholarships to qualified aviation students pursuing a career in the South Florida aviation industry. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic and aviation achievement, leadership, and financial need.
“We congratulate Joaquin for receiving this wonderful acknowledgement of achievement in his studies in professional pilot technology,” said Dr. Jeanne F. Jacobs, president of MDC’s Homestead Campus.
Established in 1927, to increase public awareness of aviation and highlight the expanding role of aviation in the community, GMAA is South Florida’s oldest civic aviation organization.
