Veteran Financial Services Leader Appointed as Dean of Miami Dade College’s School of Business

Longtime financial services leader, Brian Sepe, has been hired as the Dean of
Miami Dade College’s (MDC) School of Business. Most recently, he was the Managing Director and Head of Latin America & Canada Wealth Management for Merrill Lynch Global Wealth Management, with offices in eight countries, including the United States, representing clients in more than 150 nations. He was responsible for the business operations and risk management, growth initiatives, and overall strategic development for the wealth management businesses in Latin America and Canada.
Sepe’s career as a financial advisor began in the 1970s. He then moved into a leadership role at Merrill Lynch’s private wealth group in 1992, ultimately running the high-profile U.S. Northeast division in 2008 and then taking on the role of head of Latin America business in 2009. He has been recognized with many distinctions during his career.
“With more than thirty years in financial services, Mr. Sepe will be a tremendous asset to the School of Business as well as Miami Dade College (MDC),” said MDC President Dr. Eduardo J. Padrón. “I am certain he will take our School of Business to even greater heights.”
Sepe has also served on the Board of Governors for the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, the Executive Committee of the Beacon Council, and the Executive Committee of the United Way. In 2003, he launched Merrill Lynch Arteamericas, an exhibition featuring world-renowned and up-and-coming Latino artists from 18 countries, which is a successful program now in its tenth year.
He earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business administration, specializing in finance, from Georgia State University. He is also an approved arbitrator for Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), formerly the NASD and NYSE. In addition, he served in the U.S. Army’s 82nd Airborne.
Sepe will begin his new position at MDC on January 3, 2012.
