Miami, April 16, 2012 - Miami Dade College (MDC) students have earned an impressive track record in Phi Beta Lambda’s (PBL) state and national competitions over the years.
This year, more than 400 MDC students from the Kendall, North and InterAmerican campuses won several awards in various categories, placing them high above strong competitors from top U.S. colleges and universities at PBL’s 2012 State Leadership Conference held in Tampa last month.
In the competition, the students participated on various teams that performed tasks relevant to a business field, such as client service, fundraising, and project management. “Our students continue to amaze us with their dedication and expertise,” said Barbara Rosenthal, an MDC professor of business and PBL’s faculty advisor.
Held annually, both the state and national conferences provides a resource for students to gain leadership experience, participate in motivational general sessions, professional development and career planning workshops, and intense competitive activities.
Several of MDC’s top winners in this year’s state competition will go on to represent Florida and compete at the 2012 PBL National Leadership Conference in San Antonio, Texas to be held June 24–27.
