Miami, October 8, 2012 - Miami Dade College (MDC) will host an investor fraud summit at 9 a.m. Friday, Oct. 12, at the Wolfson Campus in downtown Miami. The summit is presented by the U.S. Department of Justice and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and is free and open to the public.

The Rise in Investment Fraud Schemes in America: Don’t Let it Happen to You aims to help consumers protect their money from fraud. Because the number of investment fraud cases has increased over the last years, the SEC is holding summits around the nation to warn investors and would-be investors about scams and to teach participants how best to protect themselves and their money.

U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder will be the featured speaker.
