Miami Dade College’s Homestead Campus to Commemorate World AIDS Week with Variety of Events

In the days leading up to World AIDS Day on Dec. 1, Miami Dade College’s (MDC) Homestead Campus has planned a number of activities to shed light on the epidemic of AIDS and its impact on the community. A series of events will commemorate World AIDS Week from Tuesday, Nov. 27 through Thursday, Nov. 29.
The events are as follows:
Tuesday, Nov., 27 8:25 — 9:40 a.m., Room F222:World AIDS Awareness Week Sexual Health Presentation. Dr. Joni Frater & Esther Lastique, best-selling authors, radio hosts and trained sexologists, will empower students to make better decisions about their sexuality with knowledge and confidence. 1 – 2 p.m., Room F201: Sexual Health Training School. All student leaders are invited to attend this training program designed to offer a fresh perspective on human sexuality. Training will include discussions of basic anatomy, sexual responsibility, if and when to be sexual, and safer sex techniques for the 21st century.
